Today is a big day, Lil Will is going to surgery to have a trach placed. His surgery is today at 2PM. He is resting comfortably right now. The idea of the trach was first brought up to us 3 weeks ago. At that time we were not sure about it. Of course, our ultimate goal was to have him off the ventilator and breathing on his own. Which he can do, its just that sometimes he has PAH crisis which require intervention. To receive this intervention, he has to be re-intubated. In order to make his airway more stable, a trach is best. God was able to clearly show us this is the way to go last week. Last week Lil Will was extubated for 40 hours, he did well but at midnight, he had a PAH crisis where he dropped his oxygen saturations to the 40's. Thus he had to be re-intubated. He remained intubated for 3 days and they extubated again because he was breathing well on his own. Again, he remained extu bated for another 40 hours. During this time, William and I had both been talking to the Lord about the same thing (does Lil Will really need a trach?) Well, the Lord anwered us in no uncertain terms.During the past two weeks, we have been faced with major decisions related to Lil Will. The doctors have all not given up but have resigned themselves to say he will die due to his Pulmonary Hypertension. William and I have made the decision to fight until God tells us otherwise. He is sovereign and His will shall be done in Lil Will's life. He is in control and only He knows what the future holds. We are walking with along this path with the Lord and I must say it has been a wonderful spiritual experience. We are continuing to live day by day and enjoy every moment with our son. We are planning to bring him home, the trach is the first step in that plan.Prayer focus for today is a succesful surgery. Steady hands of the surgeon and watchful eyes of the anesthesiologist. We will let you know how surgery goes. We love each of you
